  • The Education Foundation of Morris Plains is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit volunteer organization that raises funds for innovation in education for all students in the Morris Plains School District. We have provided more than $100,000 to fund worthy projects in all grades that were outside the district's regular budget.

  • The Education Foundation of Morris Plains (EFMP) raises funds through applying for outside grants and by hosting unique, community-building fundraisers. These have included our signature Strides for Education 5K Walk/Run; Harlem Wizards vs. Morris Plains Teachers and staff basketball games; Beer & Bites craft beer and food tasting; A Toast to Excellence wine-tasting; Marvelous Homes of Morris Plains house tour; and more.

  • The EFMP can use as much or little of your time and talent as you can spare! We are looking for enthusiasm and expertise in event planning, attracting sponsors, marketing, social media, grant writing and more. 2022 MP Garden Tour Highlights

EFMP hosted our 2nd annual EFMP Garden Tour in June 2022, welcoming more than 125 visitors from New Jersey and even further afield! The self-guided tour featured exclusive access to private gardens in Morris Plains, including many that were opened to the public for the first time ever. 

Guests raved about this year’s featured gardens. Highlights included a Franklinia tree (a species extinct in the wild since 1790) and an awe-inspiring wisteria, spanning 50 feet of arbor and trellis. The tour also featured access to the abundant flowering shrubs in Morris Plains’ Borough Elementary School courtyard garden (2022 Garden Tour Photos). 

Thank you to all our garden guests, hosts and sponsors who helped bring this event to life. Together, the 2021 and 2022 Morris Plains Garden Tours have raised $12,000 to support innovative education initiatives for all students in the Morris Plains School District.
